Pottery with personality
croucherli is the work of ceramic artist Lizzie Croucher (that's me in the picture there, hello!), producing hand thrown pottery, specifically one-off and small batch items with their own personalities.
I am based in Essex, UK.
I am currently working out of a community-led shared studio, Colchester Makerspace, where I also lead regular pottery workshops for budding beginners. Not only did the Makerspace rekindle my love for pottery (which began in 2010 through working weekends at a pottery painting cafe in London), but it gave me the space and facilities to take a leap and launch croucherli as an independent business in January 2019.
All pieces are designed, thrown, trimmed, sculpted, fired, glazed, fired again & packaged by me.
From January 2020, I will be opening my books for stockists to order small batches of my work. This will be my first venture into wholesale!

When putting my offer together, I was keen to retain the individuality of my pieces that are widely loved by my customers & followers. My ethos has always been to bring a different personality to every piece I make!
So, with that in mind, I will be offering pieces with the definitive 'croucherli style'; items that follow a pre-detemined design, but with interchangeable qualities in their forms (such as nose shapes, expressions & ever so slightly varied dimensions). This means that stockists will be getting pieces that are unique; to them, their shop and their customers.
The ordering process will simple - just pick the items you'd like, how many, and the type of clay - and leave the rest to me!
Though if you want, you can pick specific colours from the pallettes available for each type of clay,
I can't wait to open my books in January 2020! If you have any questions before then, I'd love to hear from you.
I have also created bespoke, personalised pieces for a number of very happy customers - from individuals looking for a special gift, or businesses wanting to add a personal touch to their services.
The piece to the left was a special, one-off coil pot made in May 2019.
I am currently not taking custom orders - you can find out about when my books will reopen by following me on social media.
